Q: What is NFREIA?
A: The purpose of NFREIA is to assist its members in succeeding
in their real estate investment plans by providing tools, continuing
education, motivation and opportunity in a positive and mutually
supportive environment as well as present a professional image to
the public and government.
Q: Who are your members?
A: Our membership makes up the following:
- Full and Part time investors
- Beginning investors
- Real estate brokers and agents
- Accountants and Attorneys
- Property managers
- Rehabbers
- Entrepreneurs
Q: I am just starting out and have not yet purchase a property.
Do I have to own rental or investment properties to join the organization?
A: No. Joining before purchasing property can be beneficial in
making better decisions with information from networking with other
people.
Q: What is the oganizational structure of NFRIA?
A: NFREIA is a non-profit corporation in Ohio and is directed by
non-paid annually elected officers and Board Members whose main
purpose is to direct the group’s activity toward its goals.
Responsible commitment is required of each officer and board member.
We have highly active, organized committees of volunteers who assist
in running the organization. Membership participate is highly encouraged.
Q: When and how are the board members elected?
A: Elections are held in November. Board members are elected by
a 2/3 vote from the membership.
Q: What are the benfefits and services offered to the members
of NFREIA?
A: Our members benefit from the following:
Educational Programs---
Members can attend meetings on the third Tuesday of every month.
Topics and speakers are announced in the newsletter.
Buying Power---
Membership immediately entitles you to money-saving discounts
offered by many commercial vendors. There are too many to list
here.
OPHP Designation---
By attending 60 hours of programs, members can earn the Ohio Professional
Housing Provider (OPHP) designation awarded by the Ohio Real Estate
Investors Association (OREIA).
Legislative Impact---
NFREIA plays an active role in legislative issues affecting members’
businesses and works closely with affiliated organizations to
monitor local, state, and national laws and regulations.
Network Opportunities---
Serve on committees, attend social events, learn how other investors
turn problems into opportunities.
Promote Your Business---
NFREIA is involved in the community, working with local government
and the local commerce association.
Newsletter---
Our members rely on our monthly news-letter for information on
laws, taxes, products, services, property management, and investment
strategies, etc.
Q: Is there are fee to get the OPHP Certification?
A: No. A lot of the programs qualify at our monthly meetings. There
could be costs if you choose to attend other seminars not offered
by our group.
Q: What are some of the affiliations of NFREIA?
A: NFREIA is affiliated with a number of organizations including
the Newton Falls Area Commerce Association (NFACA), Ohio Real Estate
Investors Association (OREIA) and the National Real Estate Investors
Association (NaREIA).
Q: I'm somewhat interrested in joing, but I would like
to find out a little bit more. Can I come to one of your meetings
to see in person what NFRIA is all about?
A: Absolutely. Come see what we are all about and network with
other investors and landlords. You are invited to attend your first
meeting FREE.
Q: What is the NFREIA Manual?
A: The NFREIA manual is included with your first year membership.
Included are contracts, forms and Ohio Landlord and Tenant Laws,
Fair Housing Laws and much, much more.
Q: Who should join NFREIA?
A: If you fall into the following categories, you should seriously
consider joining NFREIA.
- Individuals interested in achieving
financial independence through real estate investing.
- Individuals serious about learning
the how-to’s of real estate investing, or looking to buy
their first investment property.

Monthly Meeting – 3rd Tuesday every
month, 7:00 p.m. at the Newton Falls Community Center, 53 E. Quarry

Board Meetings – 1st Tuesday every
month, 7:00 p.m. at the Newton Falls Community Center, 52 E. Quarry
St., Newton Falls, Ohio.
Q: Do I have to attend every meeting to keep my membership
active?
A: No, but so much information is given at these meetings. It would
be to your benefit to attend them on a regular basis.
